Instructions
Pour the rice and mung flour into a bowl and mix until evenly combined. Set it aside. You’ll need it in the next step.
On a saucepan, pour in the treacle and boil.
Then gradually add the prepared flour and stir the mixture. Once the mixture begins to thicken, add Astra and salt.
Transfer the thickened mixture onto an aluminum tray and let it cool for a while.
Add about 1/2 cup water onto the saucepan and stir until you get a thick, syrup like, consistency.
Remove from heat and add small amounts of this syrup with the flour mixture in the aluminum tray.
Roll the flour mixture into a 1/2” - 1/4″ thick block. Cut it to the shape you prefer.
Now, in a separate bowl, prepare the batter by mixing the batter ingredients well.
Dip your cut pieces into the batter and deep fry in vegetable oil until golden brown.
