Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 450 grams of washed and dried basmati rice
  • 6 cloves of garlic crushed and chopped
  • 15 grams of mixed herbs coarsely chopped
  • 30 grams of Astra
  • 1000 ml chicken stock
  • 2.5 mg crushed pepper corn
  • 30 grams of fried raisins
  • pinch of turmeric powder

  • fried cashew
  • spinach leaves for garnishing

Instructions

Method
  1. Add in the cubes of Astra in a pot and fry the garlic in it. Add the basmati rice.
  2. Mix it until the rice is well coated and the flavours begin to infuse into the rice.
  3. Add 4 ½ Cups stock, peppercorns and turmeric into the pot and close the lid.
  4. Once the rice is cooked, add the herbs, raisins and fluff it.
  5. Garnish with fried cashew and spinach and serve hot.
