Method
Boil 1 Cup of Dhal with ½ Tsp. of Turmeric and 1 Tsp. of Salt in 1 ½ Cups of Water using a pot or a pressure cooker.
Transfer the boiled dhal to a bowl and add 1 Tbsp. of Astra. Whisk it until it reaches a smooth consistency. Add water as needed.
Heat 2 Tbsp. of Astra in a pan and fry 1 Tsp. of Cumin, 5 Cloves of thinly sliced Garlic, 1 chopped Green Chili, 1 Tsp. of Ginger Paste, 10 Curry Leaves, 1 diced Tomato. To this add 1 Tsp. of Turmeric, 1/4 Tsp. of Chili Powder, 1/4 Tsp. of Curry Powder and mix. Lastly, add 2 Dried Red Chilies and temper all the spices.
Set aside a little tempered spice mix for garnishing.
Add the previously prepared dhal to the pan. Then add 1 Tbsp. of Lemon Juice, 1 Tsp. of Salt, Coriander Leaves and stir everything together.
Top with the remainder of the tempered spice mix and let it simmer.
