Ingredients

  • 250 grams of Astra
  • 250 grams of sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 250g of sifted flour
  • 4 grams of baking powder
  • 5 ml of vanilla essence

Instructions

Method
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degree celcius
  2. Line a 1kg baking pan (Astra applied) and keep a side
  3. Use a mixing bowl or an electric mixer, cream the Astra and sugar together for 3 minutes at moderate speed until light and creamy, then add one egg at a time and beat till the sugar dissolves completely, while scrapping down sides of the bowl
  4. Sift the flour and baking powder together and gradually fold flour mixture and vanilla into the cream mixture at low speed until well blended
  5. Pour batter into the prepared baking pan
  6. Bake at 180 degree celcius for 45 to 50 minutes, when baking is done cake should spring back when slightly touched
  7. Remove the cake from pan, allow to cool and peel off the paper
